What Makes It Special
Growth Phases
First day of growth
After cutting the opening, the mycelium can brethe fresh air, a signal to start growing mushrooms.
3rd day of growth
Your mushrooms will start to rappidly grow, once they're a bit larger than the middle image, you can harvest and eat them!
6-7th Day of growthThe rate of growth will depend on the temp/environment.
The rate of growth will depend on the temp/environment.
At this point, your mushroom is fully formed! We do not advise leaving it beyond this point because they will drop spores and break down quickly!
Harvest the whole cluster & allow 2-3 weeks for the next flush to start.
Instructions
Step 1: Unbox and Prepare
Open the front of your kit along the perforated line and remove the extra cardboard.
Step 2: Make the Cut
With a sharp knife or scissors, carefully slice a large 'X’ or slit down the middle of the plastic bag.
Step 3: Find a home for your box
Now, place your kit in the most humid part of your home, out of direct sunlight. A kitchen counter near a sink is often the perfect spot.
Lightly spritz the plastic where you sliced the ‘X’ shape. You'll need to spritz your kit at least twice a day to keep it happy—more if you live in a particularly dry climate. (Beware of overwatering)
Step 4: Watch for "Pins"
The mushroom mycelium will sense the fresh air from the opening and start to produce "pins," which is another term for baby mushrooms. This usually takes between 5-14 days. Keep a close eye on your kit, because once the first pins appear, the mushrooms grow very quickly.
Step 5: Harvest Time!
Your mushrooms should be ready to harvest just 2-5 days after the pins form. When they look ready, gently grab the whole cluster at the base, twist, and pull.
Step 6: Go for Round Two
Your box isn't done yet! After you harvest, continue to spritz the opening lightly. A new family of mushrooms will often start to grow within 2-3 weeks. You can get 2 or 3 harvests from one box with proper care.
Step 7: Spread the Mushroom Magic
When your box has finished growing, the journey continues. Break up the block from inside the box and bury the pieces in a shady spot in your garden. The mycelium will heal the soil, and you might even see wild mushrooms pop up in the months to come!
Storing
If you're not ready to use immediately, your grow Kit can be refrigerated for up to 6 months.
Disclaimer: Pink & Gold oysters CANNOT be refrigerated because they're summer varieties. Keep them in a cool dark cupboard for best results.

Humidity Tent
Set up your grow tent
Unfold your grow tent and place it in a spot away from direct sunlight or strong drafts. This tent helps keep the right humidity and temperature just like mushrooms need in nature.
Mushrooms like a cozy, humid place but too much direct sun or wind will dry them out.
Put your mushroom boxes inside
Place your six mushroom grow kits neatly inside the tent on a flat surface.
Arranging boxes evenly helps air flow around all mushrooms and keeps humidity steady.
Cut an “X” in each grow box
Use scissors to carefully cut an X where marked on each box. This slit is where the mushrooms will grow and breathe.
The opening allows mushrooms to sprout and also lets them get fresh air, which is essential.
Turn on the humidifier
Fill your humidifier with clean water and turn it on inside or near the grow tent.
Mushrooms need moist air to grow well, and the humidifier keeps the space damp without soaking the mushrooms.
Keep the front of the grow tent open most of the time
This is very important—letting the front open means fresh air flows in. Mushrooms need oxygen just like we do.
Mushrooms breathe oxygen and give off carbon dioxide; fresh air prevents them from suffocating.
Zip up the tent for a short time daily
Once or twice a day, close the front of the tent and keep the humidifier running for about 30 minutes. This traps moisture inside to give mushrooms a humidity boost.
High humidity helps mushrooms grow fast, but too much time zipped up can make air stale.
Be careful not to overwater or oversaturate
Don’t pour water directly on your mushroom boxes or keep them soggy. Use the humidifier mist to provide moisture instead.
Mushrooms can get sick and stop growing if they are too wet or waterlogged.
With these easy steps and a little patience, you’ll soon see fresh, tasty mushrooms popping out of your mini farm. Enjoy the fun of growing your own fresh mushrooms right at home!
Cautions and considerations
Eating Your Mushrooms:
Always cook your homegrown mushrooms well before eating.
When trying a new type of mushroom, eat just a small, cooked piece first to make sure you don't have an allergy.
About Mushroom Spores (A Fine Dust):
As mushrooms get bigger, they release a fine dust called spores. This is normal and how they make baby mushrooms.
This dust can sometimes make people cough or sneeze, especially if they have allergies.
To be safe, keep your mushroom kit in a room with good airflow, like near a window.
You can also pick your mushrooms when they are still young to have fewer spores in your home.
