Simple, delicious Oyster Mushroom Medley

This recipe serves 2-3 as a side dish & takes about 10-15 minutes.

What You'll Need:

  • 2 cups fresh Oyster Mushrooms (harvested from your Mushroom Box!)

  • 1-2 Tablespoon Olive Oil or Butter

  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced (or finely chopped)

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

  • A pinch of fresh Parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

  • Your favorite dry spices (e.g., paprika, garlic powder, or mixed herbs)

Mushroom cooking in a pan

Easy Steps:

  1. Prep Your Mushrooms: Gently wipe your fresh oyster mushrooms clean with a damp cloth. Gently tear off each cap.

    • Pro Tip for Max Flavor: Before cooking, gently separate some of the larger mushroom pieces. Lightly sprinkle a bit of your chosen dry spices, salt, and pepper directly into the gills for flavor that gets locked in! You can also drizzle a tiny bit of olive oil into the gills here too.

  2. Dry Cook First (for golden crisp effect!): Place your prepared mushrooms in a large, dry pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook them for a few minutes without any oil or butter. This allows their natural water to evaporate, which is the secret to getting them perfectly crispy later!

  3. Add oil/butter/fat & Sauté: Once the mushrooms have released their water and are starting to look dry, add the olive oil or butter to the pan. Don't overcrowd the pan! If needed, cook in two batches. Let them cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and a bit crispy.

  4. Add Garlic & Finish: Stir in the minced garlic. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  5. Final Seasoning & Serve: Take the pan off the heat. Do a final taste test and add more salt and pepper if needed. Stir in fresh parsley if you like.

Enjoy your delicious, super fresh, and perfectly crispy Oyster Mushroom Medley!
