By purchasing a ticket and attending this foraging event, you (the participant) acknowledge and
agree to the following terms:
1. Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk
You understand that foraging involves outdoor activity and potential contact with wild mushrooms,
some of which may be toxic or even deadly if consumed. You voluntarily choose to participate in this
event at your own risk.
2. Mushroom Safety Disclaimer
- South African law permits the handling, smelling, and touching of wild mushrooms, but
consumption is done entirely at your own risk.
- We do our best to assist with accurate identification, but wild mushrooms can be difficult to verify
with certainty.
- Never consume any wild mushroom unless you are absolutely sure of its identity and edibility.
3. Liability Waiver
You hereby irrevocably waive, release, and discharge Cullen Clark, Alec Scott, Chantal Zimmerman,
and all associated staff or volunteers from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action
that may arise from injury, illness, or harm resulting from:
- Participation in the event
- Misidentification or consumption of mushrooms
- Accidents or exposure during the walk (including terrain hazards, allergies, or environmental
factors)

In case of suspected mushroom poisoning, seek immediate medical attention and contact the
following emergency numbers:

If you suspect someone has consumed a toxic mushroom, do not wait for symptoms to appear. Call
immediately and, if possible, bring a sample of the mushroom for identification.
5. Indemnity Binding Upon Ticket Purchase
By purchasing a ticket and attending the forage, you confirm that you:
- Have read and understood this indemnity form
- Acknowledge the risks involved
- Agree to all terms outlined above
- Accept that your participation acts as binding agreement to this waiver
